We had a great time in Yaxunah! The place is easy to reach from Valladolid via Pisté, even without a rental car. Our hosts Theo and Olga took good care of us and cooked delicious meals every day! The archaeological zone was definitely a highlight. José, who used to work with the archaeologists and is now responsible for the zone, spontaneously gave us a tour there. We were also able to visit a workshop for making hammocks and horns. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an experience away from the crowds and an insight into village life in the Yucatán!
