Socialbnb is an online platform that connects travelers with aid organizations from all around the world. It is an innovative approach to help local aid organizations become financially independent from donations. At the same time, we give travelers the chance of experiencing locals and their culture up close.

What is an aid organization?

Aid organizations are non-governmental organizations, which means that they are private, non-profit and independent of governments and international governmental organizations. While many of us are quite familiar with big aid organizations acting on a global level, Socialbnb supports small and local organizations. It does not matter whether the organizations fights for rainforest preservation, human rights, animal protection or gender equality, we support the whole range of small and local aid organizations all around the world, as they often  have major difficulties in financing their projects due to the lack of donations.

Most aid organizations have unused space that can easily be turned into lovely accommodations for travelers. By choosing to host travelers, aid organizations are able to become less financially dependent on donations. Travelers, on the other hand, can directly connect with locals and experience their culture while exploring the world from a different point of view. There is also the great side effect of helping aid organizations out without having to work for it and yet getting an insight into what aid organizations are actually doing.

We created this innovative online platform to connect travelers and aid organizations for mutual benefits. Aid organizations from all around the world can register on this platform and list their unused accommodations. Travelers can book well-prized accommodations and this way engage socially and/or economically by helping to finance projects. Using this concept we represent a social and sustainable alternative in the hospitality market.
