To the right is also a small bathroom 2 by 2.5 meters with a shower and toilet. From the balcony, there is a staircase leading to the attic. There you will find a room of approximately 5 x 5 meters with a double bed and a single mattress (extra mattress is available, so the room can sleep 4 in a pinch). In the village, we have various activities such as cooking and eating together, gardening, building and woodcutting. We also occasionally and spontaneously heat up communal ovens to bake pizza. (There is also a pizzeria in Seppiana, the village below us on the main road). Meditation, yoga & martial arts: On Sunday mornings at 10:30, there are meditations in front of the church, followed by martial arts or yoga if there is interest. We also have a place for sweatlodges. Music: Our music room, privately owned, is often available especially to musicians. (See photo's). Children: There are anywhere between 2-5 children in the village most of the time. (Ages between 5-14). We are organising a childrens house with books, a table, a place to play and even a place to sleep separately from adults, however this is still under construction). Above the village there is a trampoline for kids to get rid of their excess energy! In general the village is safe although parents are advised to inform children about the risks of playing in ruins! Be aware the Zonca is very close to the forest and we have snakes and scorpions, bees, ticks and so on. Young children should not be left unattended. Hiking: From the village, there are several hiking routes through forests up to the mountain peaks. Some routes are well marked, others more adventurous. All the villages on our side of the valley are accessible through the forest. Of particular interest to hikers are the two routes leading through Valle Antrona towards Switzerland. From Alpe Cheggio it is possible to reach the rifuggio Andola and the Passo Andola on the Swiss border within 3 hours. It is an easy route, even with children, but hikers should always check weather conditions. Swimming: At the end of the valley (Valle Antrona) is Lago Antrona, a beautiful place for swimming though the water is cold. The main road leads to Cheggio and provides access to a variety of high mountain trails. You can trek to various 'rifuggios' where you can stay overnight. Access: Access to Zonca is by one of three routes: Walking from the village of Barboniga (turn right after Cresti and continue past Montescheno) you can walk through the village and find a forest path to Zonca (time ±30 minutes). Walking from behind the church of Seppiana. (time ±40 minutes with rucksack). Just past the village of Seppiana there is a forestry road with a red and white barrier on the right hand side. This road is hard covered to about 50%. There is a parking space there and from there you can walk up (time 10 minutes). When you reach the village there is a second parking place (only for inhabitants). Go through the gates to the garden, or around the garden and continue up. The village is a labyrinth so it is easier if you give a call to notify your host and he or she will meet you and show you the way to your lodgings.

Depending on how you arrive, proceed as follows: If you arrive in Domodossola by train or bus, you can take a local bus (Comazzi) up the main valley road to Antrona-Schieranco. The bus will take you to the village of Seppiana and you can walk up the road (just past the village there is a red and white barrier on the right). The road is paved up to the first parking lot, then another 4-5 turns unpaved. This route takes between 30-40 minutes, depending on how much you carry. There is a rope lift to lift heavy goods to the top of the village if needed. Second option, arrival by car: Drive in the direction of Antrona. Just past Cresti, there is a turnoff to the right towards Montescheno. Drive until Barboniga and park there. Go through the village past the church and straight on through the woods. The path is mostly downhill. Time ± 30 minutes. Third option: Drive towards Antrona and after Seppiana turn right onto the road behind the red and white barrier. At the end of the asphalt road, you will reach a parking lot. Do not try to drive on the dirt road. The last section takes about ten minutes.

I've spent 4 days in May with my family at Daniel's house. It was a great experience that I can highly recommend. Daniel is a sweet and attentive host. His recommendations to visit Zonca village and surroundings were always perfect. If you want to live an experience to connect to the beauty of the nature and human : go to Zonca and meet Daniel

I am still amazed about my stay at Zonca Ecovillage. My sister and I spent three nights in the small quiet village and felt very comfortable - surrounded by breathtaking nature, small goats, a llama (Filippo) and lovely dogs. The people of the village were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. Daniel was the perfect host, telling us about the village life and his way to Zonca over a cup of tea. He kindly drove us in his car to the bus stop down the hill on our departure day and talked to us over coffee about God and the world. The equipment of the cozy stone house is great: fireplace, kitchen, nice bathroom and upstairs a good bed! The descriptions on the website are all accurate. We especially liked the balcony of our accommodation, where we started the day with tea and ended each evening with a view of the sunset. The surrounding area is very beautiful, we visited all the neighboring villages, had delicious coffee and food and went hiking. It is not far to a small supermarket in Montescheno, in the village itself there are also drinking water spots where we could fill up our water bottles. Our stay was unforgettable and more than worth it. We would definitely come back again. Thank you socialbnb for such a great experience and thank you Daniel for making our stay so special! :)

Daniel was a fantastic host! We arrived very late due to work and he made sure we made it safe and sound to the village. Even had a beautiful bottle of Italian red wine for us. The house and the village is just stunning and super tranquil. Hot shower with a beautiful view? No problem Breakfast on the little balcony with fresh grapes in front of you and the mountains in the background? You got it. Fireplace, cozy kitchen and a big table to treat yourself for a meal? Sure thing We even got invited by the village to a birthday lunch with everyone around! So if you are looking for a unique experience in the remote Alps of Italy awa from all the hustle, Daniel's place is where you should head to!
