Support Akoma Hearts of Ghana with their education projects and the development of a plastic-free community!
Our aid organisation Akoma Hearts is improving the education of children in an island community of Azizakpe. We provide them with healthcare needs and a sustainable system that improves their lives as we have provided a boat for the community. Our overall goal is to foster the development of a community in which children receive access to good education and healthcare while parents are able to support their children. Ultimately, we want to live in a plastic-free community.
For now, we have a program, in which we provide a teacher to teach the nursery and kindergarten classes as well as an after school programme where we teach the children creative arts and sports.
Our homestay is a five bedroom house with an open space hall where we have a sofa and a bed dressed in beautiful African prints with a fluffy table. This place is perfect to play some games. We then have a kitchen within the house where we have a gas cooker to cook your own food and fridge with a sink.
On the left side of the hall area is an alley to the rooms. Two sides are for resident volunteers and straight ahead is located our guest room. Our guest room is a dormitory room with 5 beds and has a floor all tiled, a decent toilet and bath located in the room.
Behind the house is our veranda, with a table overlooking the green back yard, where you can eat and also work. It is a very peaceful and relaxing space. We are located in Ada Foah, where we live picturesque between the sea and the Volta river. It also has historic relevance as the Dutch were here during the colonial period which can be seen in the old European style church architecture by the beach and some classical architecture ruins. Within a 10 minute walk from our house you can get to the beautiful wide Atlantic ocean.
Drinking water for sale.
