Help Kasese Give a Goat - Africa focusing on promoting women, youth, child rights and empowerment!
Founded in 2006, Give a Goat aims to fulfil the vision of a self sustaining organisation with excellent service for socio-economic development, providing practical, quality demand-driven products and services to the community in Kasese. Give a Goat follows the vision of a poverty free community and tries to strengthen those who are living below the poverty line.
Therefore, in 2007, the German Partner Organisation Schenke eine Ziege e.V. and Give a Goat – Africa established a goat-farm with the purpose of familiarising needy families with goat-breeding and farming. Before the beneficiaries receive their goat-family to improve their income situation in a sustainable way, they attend several workshops about goat-breeding. In addition they get trained in other important subjects like HIV/AIDS prevention, gender equality, hygiene and farming in general.
Today the project has grown far beyond. Give a Goat – Africa has its own hospital ward, a micro financing program, several income generating projects (agriculture/coffee/banana) and a primary school. Currently Give a Goat – Africa builds a Vocational Secondary School. All of these projects are essential to ensure a self sustaining NGO and therefore a safe and healthy future of the community.
