Wir waren im August 2022 ein paar Tage in Pina Palmera und wurden herzlich vom Team und den Bewohnenden der Einrichtung empfangen. Die Anlage liegt nah am Strand und ist mit dem Bus gut zu erreichen. Im hinteren Bereich mitten im Grünen befinden sich die Gästezimmer - die Ausstattung ist einfach und spartanisch, was uns nichts ausgemacht hat, weil es zur Einrichtung passt. Wir haben fast eine Woche dort verbracht und haben die Ruhe genossen - ein einmaliges Erlebnis auf unserer México Reise. Besonders empfehlen wir einen Rundgang und die Teilnahme an den gemeinsamen Aktivitäten. Wir waren berührt von der Idee wie Inklusion dort gelebt wird. Im Laden konnten wir uns mit regionalen Erzeugnissen und Kunst eindecken.

I had a wonderful stay at Piña Palmera. The day I arrived I received a warm welcome, a cup of coffee, a tour of the entire property, and a lot of information about the great work being done there. The bed was very comfortable and I even had my own room although I booked a shared room. It is a bit noisy in the morning as the room is very close to the street and there are some roosters living on site haha - but no problem with earplugs. You are accommodated in the area where the volunteers live, who are super nice and helpful with all questions. At the beginning there were some problems with the water, so you couldn’t shower and using the toilet was also kind of “difficult”. But that problem was fortunately solved the same evening. The sanitary facilities take a bit of getting used to but that is really something you can overlook. Otherwise, there is a well-equipped kitchen on site, which I personally have not used, because there are many great (vegan/vegetarian) restaurants in Zipolite. Zipolite is a super nice little place with relaxed people, very alternative and in the evening you can stroll through the streets and buy great handmade jewelry or drink a beer. I definitely recommend a stay at Piña Palmera!
