The Foundation Cambugán aims to generate alternatives for the preservation and restoration of ecosystems at risk, through the creative and sustainable integration of local communities linked to them. We currently have a forest protection zone of around 10,000 hectares. We seek to generate direct productive alternatives (community tourism) for neighbouring communities; and to develop complementary production and commercialisation opportunities that promote agroecology (Mushuk Tukuy network in Pintag) and commerce for businesses (Pichincha Mitad del Mundo shop).

 

The project provides to the communities (that live close to the native forest or areas in the process of the restoration of the ecosystem) technical assistance to learn agroecology in courses, workshops, seminars and field practices based on the use of innovative and participatory methods.
