Day 1: Connect with Nature and People
Arrival & Sustainable Welcome (2.00 PM)
- Greeting by Nagenahiru Environmental Learning Center (NELC)
- Checking to the camping tents
- Short briefing on excursion, conservation work, and local livelihoods

Guided Nature Walk
- Walk led by trained local youth guides at NELC
- Discover medicinal plants, butterflies, and the role of mangroves in climate resilience
ㅤ
Canoe Ride with Local Fishermen
- Paddle with traditional oru boats (non-motorized, low-impact)
- Learn about sustainable fishing methods and ecosystem-friendly practices
- Observe biodiversity without disturbing habitats and bird waching
ㅤ
Community Tea Time Camp; Local Stories
- Share tea and homemade snacks with a local women’s cooperative
- Hear stories about how tourism supports women’s empowerment
- Floating Eco-Dinner
- Dinner cooked with organic produce from nearby village

Day 2: Experience and Contribute
Sunrise Lake Experience (6:00 AM)
- Boat ride to observe early-morning birdlife and wetland calm
- Capture photos, journal, or just observe quietly
- Enjoy traditional breakfast

Conservation Volunteering
- Hands-on mangrove planting, or wetland clean-up
- Learn how this work protects coastlines and stores carbon
- Receive a certificate and plant a mangrove in your name

- Feedback session and options to support long-term conservation

How to get there
We are close to the main road of the South Coast of Sri Lanka.
We can organize a pick up transport for you after booking or you come with your own car/ private transport
Cancellation Policy
- A cancellation of this tour is possible at any time.
- If you cancel at least 30 days before the date of travel, there is no cancellation fee.
- If you cancel between 29 and 15 days before the departure date, 20% of the tour price will be charged.
- If the cancellation is made between 14 and 8 days before the departure date, 50% of the tour price will be charged.
- If the cancellation is made between 7 and 1 day before the departure date, 80% of the tour price will be charged.
