This is what your adventure trip looks like
2 Weeks or More in Mozambique – Marine Research & Conservation in Tofo Bay Welcome to your marine research adventure at one of the world’s most exciting dive sites.
es. In Tofo Bay on the coast of Mozambique, you’ll volunteer at All Out Africa’s Marine Research Centre (MRC)—in partnership with Tofo Scuba. You’ll dive in the species-rich waters of the Indian Ocean, collect underwater data on whale sharks, manta rays, leopard sharks, and coral reefs, and contribute to international citizen science databases. During a 3 -week program, you’ll earn an internationally recognized diving certification (included in the price) and participate in 11–12 ocean activities—from research dives to ocean safaris. You’ll learn to individually identify whale sharks, photograph manta rays, document reef health, and monitor seahorses in estuaries. In between, you’ll organize beach cleanups and microplastic surveys for a citizen science project at the University of Portsmouth. You’ll live at Tilak Lodge—a beach lodge with thatched-roof chalets right above Tofo Bay, featuring a pool, restaurant, and just a few steps from the dive center. On weekends, you can surf, do yoga, sail on a dhow, or explore the coast on horseback.
