Hi, I'm Yunguilla and I’ll be happy to host you during your stay!
Yunguilla is a non-profit organisation that has been working for community development for 27 years through conservation, community tourism and sustainable micro-enterprises such as the production of cheese, jams, handicrafts and much more. Located just one hour north of Quito in the municipality of Calacalí, Yunguilla is situated in the cloud forest at an altitude of 2650 metres above sea level.
The 55 families of the Yunguilla community have been working in an organised way since 1995 to improve the quality of life through proper management of natural resources. We have developed the offer of community tourism from the perspective of communal living, sharing customs and cultures in this way.

Activities
You can participate in the following activities of Yunguilla: Reforestation and restoration of forests, development of organic gardens or agroecological projects, production of jams with local fruits, production of cheese, production of recycled paper and other handicrafts, and environmental education programs.

How to get there
From the city of Quito take the metro via public transport to the north station of Ofelia. There you can take a bus to Calacalí and from Calacalí take a cab to the community of Yunguilla which will cost you 4 $.
Alternatively, you can arrive by private or rented car. You will receive the address of your accommodation after booking.
