Join a one-week sailing trip to protect whales and dolphins in the Mediterranean
Accommodation
Overnight accommodation is provided on board the sailing ship in a cabin for up to 6 people.
Group Activities
A maximum of 6 people can take part in a tour. Skippers and assistants are also on board

Research and sailing activities, as well as accommodation on the ship included. Meals are extra.

This is how your experience would look like:
Become part of the expedition and research team of a local NGO for the protection and research of the behavior of whales and dolphins in the Mediterranean. The stay is dedicated to research activities. You will assist with data collection and sailing activities. The animals are located using sound recognition and slowly approached.
Participants and researchers take turns observing each other every hour until dolphins or whales are sighted. During the sightings, your task is to

Hi, I'm Barbara and I’ll be happy to host you during your stay!
We study the cetaceans in the Mediterranean Sea to protect them and their critical habitats.
Our work focuses on identifying key areas for cetaceans, feeding and breeding grounds, and preferred routes used by the animals in the Mediterranean Sea. The identified areas are submitted to the attention of politicians and stakeholders, suggesting methods for their protection and management.
In addition to research, the project aims at education and outreach to expand people’s knowledge and awareness of the conservation needs of Mediterranean whales and dolphins.
Any economic support for the project comes exclusively from participants in the summer courses, private sponsors, and foundations. Thanks to the participation

How to get there
The island of Ischia is connected to Naples by sea, ferries and hydrofoils.Travel to the project location must be organized by yourself.The socialbnb team will be happy to help you with the planning.International travel is via Naples either by flight or train...
Cancellation Policy
- A cancellation of this tour is possible at any time.
- If you cancel at least 30 days before the date of travel, there is no cancellation fee.
- If you cancel between 29 and 15 days before the departure date, 20% of the tour price will be charged.
- If the cancellation is made between 14 and 8 days before the departure date, 50% of the tour price will be charged.
- If the cancellation is made between 7 and 1 day before the departure date, 80% of the tour price will be charged.
