We are a local non govermental non profit organization based on the island of Kalamos we are a small conservation trust focusing on research and direct conservation actions including legal actions
Our long-term goal is to restore and protect the biocultural diversity of the inner Ionian sea whilst providing for the means for sustainable development in the area where the traditional communities of the two islands have used and is part of their ancestral domain.
Part of this goal is to address issues with its recognition and to halt land and ocean grabs.
We work in doing baseline biodiversity studies, restoring ecosystems and protecting threatened species with direct and indirect actions:
- restoring ecosystems
- providing alternative means to environmental degradation(economic alternatives)
- Restore governance structures for community-conserved areas.
