Highlights
Experience the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador from the perspective of the indigenous Achuar people.
This is what your adventure trip looks like
This 4-night program offers you an unforgettable experience in the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador.
Stay in a lodge run by the indigenous Achuar Nation and experience their homeland through the eyes of the local people. Hike through the primary rainforest, go canoeing on the Pastaza River and learn more about the Achuar culture. Your journey with the Achuar is one that is custom to your interests. When you arrive, you can discuss with your Achuar guide what you'd like to learn about and what to experience. The below is a standard itinerary that can be modified accordingly.

Where you'll be
A visit to Kapawi Ecolodge starts and ends in the town of Shell, located 4-5 hours from Quito at the edge of the Amazon basin. Our chartered planes are usually scheduled to leave from Shell at 9.30 am. The flight covers 160 kilometers to Kapawi and takes approximately 50 minutes before landing in the Achuar village of Kusutkau, one of the 3 Achuar communities that own Kapawi Ecolodge.
