The Homestay is a traditionally built house and is surrounded with peaceful nature and you will have a beautiful view of the landscape and the surrounding mountains. The family consists of 8 members out of which only 2 are permanently residing in the homestay.
There are two beds in every room. It can‘t be said for sure if they will be standing separately or next to each other, but it can be changed as per need at the arrival.

Your host will be a typical Ladakhi Family, often with some cattle and farmland.
LEHO is an Indian NGO founded in 1991.
It has many projects focusing on the improvement of Ladakh, on the topics of sustainability, ecotourism, water management and education, with an overall goal to raise awareness on climate issues.
Activities
Trekking, Museum visit, visit rock arts, learn about medicinal plants, visit the Gyapa Cho Khar palace (300 y/o) and an old Stupa (over 800 y/o), hike to waterfall (Kilam Tokpo), there is a new and an old monastery

How to get there
When arrived in Leh, you will follow the Leh-Manali-Highway which will bring you south-eastwards.The road leads along the Indus-river upstream passing the village Kharu.The next village will be Upshi where you have to turn right and leave the Indus valley by crossing the river.From than on you only have to follow the highway untill you will finally arrive in Gya...
