6 Days in Costa Rica – Sea Turtle Monitoring: Underwater Citizen Science.
Welcome to an expedition that combines diving with real science. For six days, you’ll dive into the species-rich waters of the Papagayo region in Guanacaste and collect underwater data on sea turtles—side by side with renowned Costa Rican marine biologists Dr. Randall Arauz and/or Daniel Arauz. You’ll help weigh, measure, and tag loggerhead sea turtles, contribute to the photo-ID project, and visit a turtle sanctuary in the evenings to observe nesting females on the beach. On the last day, you’ll reflect on the week’s findings with the group during a closing seminar. This is no ordinary diving trip—it’s hands-on marine conservation.
