About your accomodation
Our main lodge is currently under construction, but our basic campsite is available now! We provide the tent and sleeping pads, all you have to do is show up! Or feel free to come with your own gear! Choose from beach camping (when lake levels are low, July - Dec), platform camping or lakeview camping.
Current campsite amenities are simple.There is one pit latrine available.This off does not include meals but is meant for self-catering.You can cook over charcoal or firewood...

The Cove is a social enterprise venture in Chitende, Malawi. Our mission is to utilize money from tourism revenue to support community-driven development projects. Practically speaking, we are building an eco-lodge on the beautiful lake shore of northern Malawi. We believe in fostering sustainable solutions through building relationships, working and learning together, and valuing our interactions with each other and the environment.
Our vision is to use nature and tourism to bring people together to solve the unique challenges our community faces. How to get there
Depending on the season you come, getting to our property can be a bit adventurous.
To reach us from Lilongwe, you must travel north to Chilumba.Most travelers take a night in Mzuzu.Chilumba is about 3 hours north of Mzuzu by car or local transport (add an hour or two).
From Chilumba, our location is about 5 km north on a dirt "road"...
