Activities

Chumbe is a privately protected area, which offers its guests a tropical island experience in harmony in nature, where you can learn all about the pristine environment.
You can climb the iconic historic Chumbe lighthouse and enjoy a breathtaking view over the forest and marine park! Further, we offer activities, such as snorkeling, walking tours, education talks and presentations about marine and terrestrial conservation, visits to community projects on Zanzibar, which can be booked on site.

    How to get there

    Chumbe Island Coral Park is located off the west coast of Zanzibar. You will reach Chumbe island from Zanzibar with one of the daily boat connections. The boat ride takes about 45 minutes according to the weather and is conducted by a local boat operator.
