About your accomodation
Our cozy guest house is located within the Xieti Nature Reserve, next to Lake Tota (water level at 3,015 high), in the high-Andean area, surrounded by beautiful mountains and a paramo ecosystem.
The house has three rooms (for two people each), two separate bathrooms, hot water shower, kitchen, and an integrated living & dining room with a fireplace.Breakfast is only "ingredients included", for self-preparing.It's a one-story house, suitable for 6 people.
It faces Lake Tota with an outstanding view of it...

Hi, I'm Felipe and I’ll be happy to host you during your stay!
We do contribute on environmental and wetland conservation by influencing a positive governance at high-Andean Lake Tota (largest lake in Colombia), as well as by creating a model of environmental harmony through private nature reserves (two of them so far).
Our goal is to motivate and help reaching sustainability and good practices in the regions where we work (currently two areas in Boyaca and Santander), both by being participatory stakeholders, and by developing an example of initiatives to follow.
Our target group is mainly rural communities, with an special focus on children.
Our relationships in the field are commonly developed with a full range of communities and sectors.
Activities
Cycling routes, hiking routes, trekking route within our reserve, tree planting, bird watching, visit to onion or potato farming (subject to availability), lunch & dinner with locals in their rural houses, sharing rural labour for an hour (subject to availability).

How to get there
Arrival by car: From Sogamoso there are two routes for reaching Xieti Nature Reserve, both are around 30 km distant and 50 min long.
Route 1 is Sogamoso - El Crucero - Lake Tota (Llano de Alarcon) - El Tunel - 3 km on way to Playa Blanca - Xieti access. Route 2 is Sogamoso - Iza - Cuitiva - El Tunel - 3 km on way to Playa Blanca - Xieti access.
Arrival by bus: From Sogamoso taking the bus route "Sogamoso - Iza - Cuitiva - El Tunel", and we can help coordinating a private transport from there to Xieti (3 km). From 2024, a new bus line with that same route is passing by our reserve, leaving at 6:40 AM and 3:40 PM from Sogamoso.
