Hi, I'm Jorge and I’ll be happy to host you during your stay!
We work with the indigenous community of Lagunas, located near the entrance to the Pacaya Samiria Nature Reserve.
These people have many ancient habits and traditions that they like to share with travelers, such as fan weaving, medicinal plants or fishing.
Through Wonder Amazon, we are helping the locals to participate in the tourism development of this still unknown region.
In collaboration with the SERNAM office, we also regularly give courses to raise awareness of fauna and flora, especially the protection of turtles.
In the future, we would like to establish
Activities
From the accommodation you can make different excursions into the nature reserve. For example, you can visit the Pacaya Samiria Nature Reserve for a minimum of 3 days, but also for up to 12 days, to go deeper into the Peruvian Amazon with our canoe expeditions.

Location
How to get there
From Lima you can take a plane (1 hour) or a bus (24 hours) to Tarapoto (San Martin).
From there you can rent a car to get to Yurimaguas (2. 5 hours).
From Yurimaguas (Loreto region) to Villa Lagunas - Emanuel Varadero de Tibilo Native Community (entry point to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve) you can get across the Huallaga River in speedboats (4 hours). Departure times from Yurimaguas to Villa Lagunas are 5am and 5pm.
When you arrive in Lagunas (and hopefully have made reservations beforehand), we will pick you up and take you directly to Albergue Wonder Amazon.
