Hello, I'm Justin H.

Hi! My name is Justin Hokororo, founder and chairman of Woven Connect, a local NGO based in Arusha, Tanzania specializing in empowering the community through technical skills. I was born and raised in Arusha but also have some travel experience abroad. I worked in Japan, South Africa, and Tanzania for over 10 years as a freelance ICT expert. In 2015 I joined Afrikan Wear Design, a local social enterprise started by my mother in 2009, and came to realize my calling for working with my hands. The journey has been fascinating so far to the point I switched careers and now I am fully committed to working with handlooms and woodwork tools, something that I truly enjoy. From the skills, I got over the years and with help from former volunteers and fellow staff at Afrikan Wear Design we were able to build The Woven House. A project financed by Afrikan Wear Design to provide accommodation and a unique experience to travelers. By staying with us you will be supporting our new NGO that aims to reach as many willing community members as possible. Thank you for reading a little about me.

The Woven Connect house was the perfect place for us to relax a bit after our safari. The host Justin provided us with super home cooked food, which we could order very spontaneously. All rooms were large, bright and clean. The whole accommodation has a very familiar character. We were very pleased that we were also allowed to look at the social project of the accommodation, where really great and high-quality products are made.
